2018 Concert Guide Kick Off: “Mouse and the Traps”

January 11th (7:30pm) – The Doobie Brothers in Concert – When considering the ultimate classic rock bands of the 1970s, The Doobie Brothers are at the top of everyone’s list with their mind-blowing, roots-based, harmony-laden, guitar-driven rock and roll. With more than 48 million albums sold worldwide and four Grammy® Awards, their numerous chart-topping hits include “Black Water,” “China Grove,” “Listen to the Music,” and “Long Train Running.” In all, the band has tallied-up five top 10 singles and 16 top 40 hits. Their latest album, Southbound, features new recordings of the band’s iconic hits, with country music’s biggest stars. The Doobie Brothers have built a legacy on not just hit records, but also an unrivaled commitment to musical integrity and a steadfast allegiance to their enthusiastic fan base. The band’s ability to evolve in a constantly changing industry and their connections to generations of listening audiences is a testament to their craft. Tickets are $57-$147. January 25th-26th (6:30 – 9:30pm) – Uncle Lucius – The Final Shows will be at Stanley’s Famous BBQ, 525 S. Beckham, Tyler. This Thursday will be a special, acoustic-driven night of some favorite songs they haven’t played in a while, leaving Friday night to blow the roof off. Be sure to get your tickets early, as these shows WILL sell out. This event is 21 & up only. Individual tickets for Thursday and Friday are $20 and two-night tickets for both shows are $35. January 31st (7pm – 12:30am) – William Clark Green with Josh Abbott – in concert at Coach’s & Cowboy’s, located at 8374 Paluxy Dr., Tyler. Tickets are priced at $20-$25 and are available for purchase at wildtexastickets.com.

February 3rd (7:30pm) – Take 6 and Manhattan Transfer – Combining forces for the first time, the two groups boast a remarkable 20 Grammy Awards and a range of styles that covers nearly every genre of popular music; from jazz to swing, from gospel to R&B. The Manhattan Transfer joins Take 6 as they share their crystal clear harmony, innovative arrangements, and funky grooves, demonstrating why this sextet is recognized as the pre-eminent A cappella group in the world.
