The Tyler Public Library welcomes a new book club

On Feb. 19, the Tyler Public Library will debut a new book club featuring works by African American. The club, dubbed “The Liberated Bookworms,” which will meet in the Library’s Taylor Auditorium from 2 to 4 p.m. on the third Sunday of each month.

February’s book selection is The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness by Michelle Alexander.

“The Library is very excited to add a second book club that will coincide nicely with the long-running book club ‘ClubRead,’ which meets on the last Tuesday of every month,” says Connie Greer, access librarian.
