On Friday, Jan. 26 at 8 p.m., Liberty Hall will begin the 2018 lineup by welcoming Rhett Miller, lead singer of The Old 97’s, to the stage.
Rhett Miller has been playing in touring bands (most notably, the Old 97’s) for the better part of 20 years. His latest solo album titled The Traveler was released in May 2015 and featured the members of Black Prairie, a band based in Portland that plays everything from bluegrass to klezmer to country and shares members with the Decemberists. Additional guitar work was also added by Peter Buck and Scott McCaughey of REM.
“We are thrilled to have Rhett Miller on our stage. His acoustic show is phenomenal and we cannot wait,” said Adriana Rodriguez, downtown operations coordinator.
Opening for Miller will be the acclaimed folk-punk-rock-ambient artist Matthew Ryan. Inspired by artists such as U2, The Replacements and Leonard Cohen, his latest album, Hustle Up Starlings, was released to critical acclaim in 2017.
Tickets are $20, $25 and $30 and can be purchased online at www.LibertyTyler.com. Be sure to “Like” Liberty Hall on Facebook for daily updates and check out our lineup for 2018.
