Goodman Museum hosts Old Rose Open House in honor of rose season
On Saturday, Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the ninth annual Tyler’s ‘Old Rose’ Open House will be held at the 1859 Goodman-LeGrand House and Museum as part of Tyler’s Rose Season and the Texas Rose Festival weekend celebration.
Lovely Rose Belles will greet visitors as they enter to tour the historic mansion. Self-guided tours of this lovely old southern home will be available throughout the day. One official tour will be given at 12:30 p.m. Complimentary refreshments will be provided.
“This annual event is a great chance to visit the Goodman’s Chamblee Rose Garden,” said Museum Curator Mary Foster. “It’s the world’s first certified Earth-kind garden and great for photo opportunities. It’s truly a hidden gem in our city.”
This event is sponsored by the Tyler Parks and Recreation Department. Admission is free.
Please contact Mary Foster at the Goodman for further information at (903) 531-1286 or go to www.goodmanmuseum.com. The Goodman-LeGrand is located at 624 N. Broadway Ave. and is set in the beautifully landscaped nine-acre LeGrand Park and Gardens.
