The Rose City is a wonderful place to celebrate the holiday season. Check out these fun events happening this season!

Season of Light & Mystery of the Christmas Star

Tuesday-Saturday, November 1st-December 31st (“Season of Light” at 1pm and “Mystery of the Christmas Star” at 3pm)

In this modern retelling of the Christmas Story, “Mystery of the Christmas Star” journeys back over 2,000 years to Bethlehem as you seek to discover a scientific explanation for the star the wise men followed to find the baby Jesus.

“The Season of Light” recounts the historical religious and cultural rituals practiced during the time of winter solstice and takes a look at some of the more light-hearted seasonal traditions: from gift giving and kissing under the mistletoe to decking the halls. St. Nicholas, Sinterklaas, Father Christmas, and Santa Claus all drop by as well. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for students, seniors, and children.

Mistletoe & Magic: ‘Making Spirits Bright’

November 9th-11th (Thursday-Friday 12 noon-8pm, Saturday 9am-5pm)

This is a three-day shopping extravaganza! This holiday market is a collection of more than 90 specialty boutiques and merchants from all over the country, showcasing antiques, artwork, gourmet foods, jewelry, seasonal decorations, housewares, adult and children’s clothing, and much more. The event is also host to brunches, style shows, musical entertainment, and children’s events. Tickets are available at the door or online for $8 per person per day, children 6 and under are free. Christmas in the Country

November 9th-11th (9am-6pm)

‘Tis the season for giving! Shop and celebrate Christmas in the Country at the barn! You can expect to find a festive mix of antiques, painted furniture, vintage Christmas décor, The Jesus Tree, and specialty gifts! Admission is free. This will be held at 10101 FM 2813, Flint. Hit the Bricks: 2nd Saturday

November 11th and December 9th

Christmas in Bergfeld Open House

November 16th (5-8pm)

Bergfeld Center is ready for Christmas! All the shops will be offering spirits and hors d’oeuvres plus discounts and door prizes just in time for your Christmas shopping. Admission is free. Winter Wonderland of Trees

November 23rd-December 31st (10am-6pm)

Tour the “Winter Wonderland of Christmas Trees” and see the beautiful and unique themed trees, lovely Nativity, and more. Feel free to pause a moment under the breathtaking, beautiful, traditional 12-foot tree to leave an unwrapped toy for the Tyler Firefighter’s Toy Drive. Bring your kids and camera for a family photo, as well as your Santa letters to drop in Santa’s mailbox. There will be free candy canes for the kids. Admission is free. Tyler Rotary Club’s Christmas Parade

November 30th (6pm)

Hosted by Rotary Club of Tyler, South Tyler Rotary Club & Sunrise Rotary Club, kick off the spirit of Christmas in Downtown Tyler with the annual Rotary of Tyler Christmas Parade. Enjoy family, friends, Santa, and much more! Bring a friend, jacket, and smile and enjoy the show. The annual Christmas Parade will begin at 6pm at the corner of Bow St. at N. 32nd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

November 30th immediately following the Christmas Parade

Tyler is celebrating 32 years of lighting the City of Tyler’s Christmas tree. There will be live music performances and the magic finger to light the tree will be performed by this year’s Miracle Child selected by the Christus Trinity Mother Frances Children’s Miracle Network. Christmas in the Park

December 1st (6-7pm)

Join the fun at The Children’s Park’s 14th Annual Christmas in the Park, providing opportunities for families to spend a relaxing evening together surrounded by lights and preparing their hearts for Christmas. You’ll experience the joy of singing Christmas Carols together, drinking Snowman Soup, and making S’mores over an open fire. This is a wonderful family tradition. Admission is free. Blue Santa Crawl

December 9th (2-10pm)

Presented by EGuide Magazine, “crawl” around Downtown Tyler and collect pieces of a Santa costume while making a difference. There will be special activities for “elves” as well as “Santa’s.” Each ticket sold sponsors a child for the annual FOP Blue Santa Program. Have fun and change a child’s life this Christmas. 12th Annual “Holiday in the Garden” and Bazaar

December 9th (10am-8pm with vendors open 10am-6pm)

Enjoy the sights and sounds of the holidays at this shopping experience with over 50 vendors. Items will be for sale inside the Rose Garden Center. Enjoy live entertainment on the Queen’s Court in the Garden. Kids can enjoy storytime with Mrs. Claus and check out the Garden decorations after dark. There is so much to experience at this Bazaar. Admission is free, and the kid’s zone and concessions are available for a fee. This will be held at Tyler Rose Garden, 420 Rose Park Dr., Tyler. Holiday Classic Movies at Liberty Hall

Liberty Hall is hosting a variety of upcoming holiday movies. Liberty Hall is located at 103 E. Erwin St., Downtown Tyler. Doors open at 6pm, and movies start at 7pm unless noted otherwise. Tickets are available online at libertytyler.com or at the door for $7.

“Frozen” Sing-Along

This sing-along version of “Frozen” is a stunning big-screen comedy-adventure inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Snow Queen.” Fearless optimist Anna sets off on an epic journey, teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff and his loyal reindeer Sven to find her sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls, and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom. Tickets are $10.
