84th Annual Texas Rose Festival
October 19th-22nd, the 84th Annual Texas Rose Festival will be held in Tyler.
Queen Emily Kaye Evans will reign for the 2017 Texas Rose Festival. This year’s theme, “Celestial Wonders” will be highlighted.
Since its beginning in 1933, the Texas Rose Festival has represented the spirit that brings Tyler together as a community.
Rich in heritage and tradition, the Festival offers enchanting ceremonial events – the Queen’s Coronation, the Rose Show, the Queen’s Tea, the Rose Parade – all amidst a backdrop of brilliant roses as vibrant and colorful as the community they represent.

Texas Rose Festival Rose Show

Texas Rose Festival Men’s Luncheon with John Cornyn

The 84th distinguished men’s luncheon is an event that has featured top government officials to professional athletes. Speaker John Cornyn will speak this year. In 2014, Texans overwhelmingly re-elected Senator John Cornyn to represent them for a third term in the U.S. Senate. Since he was first elected in 2002, Senator Cornyn has earned a national reputation as an articulate and powerful voice for Texas and conservative values in Washington. He has also been a tireless advocate for Texas military personnel, veterans, and their families, and he has fought to provide these brave Americans with the best possible support, care, and benefits. Texas Rose Festival Ladies’ Luncheon

Experience an amazing lunch with friends and family with distinguished guest speaker Roy Blount, Jr. Roy Blount Jr., is the author of twenty-three books, about everything from the first woman president of the United States to what barnyard animals are thinking. His most recent book is “Save Room For Pie: Food Songs and Chewy Ruminations,” and his other books include “Alphabetter Juice: The Joy of Text,” “Hail, Hail Euphoria: Presenting the Marx Brothers in Duck Soup,” “Long Time Leaving: Dispatches From Up South,” which won the 2007 nonfiction award from the New England Independent Booksellers Association, and “Feet on the Street: Rambles Around New Orleans,” which The New York Times called “a wild, unpredictable ramble through a wild, unpredictable town.” Admission is $50 and up. Texas Rose Festival Coronation

An impressive theatrical experience that always inspires visitors, the Texas Rose Festival Coronation features the theme “Celestial Wonders” with the Queen and her Court, gorgeous costumes, and is a must-see event. Texas Rose Festival Parade

By far, this is the community’s favorite event! The parade starts at Front St. and Glenwood and concludes in Rose Stadium. It is free to watch the parade along the parade route on the street. Stadium seating tickets are also available the day of the parade at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium, 400 Fair Park Dr., or in advance at cowancenter.org. Texas Rose Festival Queen’s Tea

The Queen’s Tea is an opportunity to meet the Rose Queen and her Court in their full coronation costumes. It is traditionally hosted by the Queen’s family and the Texas Rose Festival. The public is invited to attend free of charge. It is an opportunity to showcase the 14-acre Tyler Rose Garden in full bloom. The Brick Street Village “Roses in the Village”

Hosting a rose arrangement/bouquet contest with entries from Tyler area florists, Brick Street Village comes alive! The best entry will be determined by public voting on entries found in Brick Street Village shops. Several shops will offer activities showing how roses can be made from various ordinary items like wool, cotton fabric, yarn, felt, and paper. Touring the shops and arrangements is free but there is a small fee to make roses. The Brick Street Village is located in the S. College, S. Bois D’Arc, W. Phillips, and W. Rusk Streets in Tyler.
