Everything is bigger and brighter in Texas, and Christmas is no exception especially when it comes to decorations and lights.
Today on Day 1 of our 5 Days of Christmas Lights tour, we look at the longtime beloved Santaland Christmas Park, located at 11518 Interstate 20 in Lindale.
Santaland has been a favorite of East Texans for many years because of the extensive light trail featuring many different themes and displays.
This drive-thru Christmas park wonderland is the perfect place to take the family for holiday fun. Driving down I-20 westward, you can see the bright illumination in the trees being given off by the glow of millions of lights in the park. As you enter the 24-acre park, you are surrounded by more than two million lights everywhere you drive. The whole park takes about 45 minutes to explore.
The Tunnel of Lights features 25,000 flashing, dancing lights, and as you exit the 250-foot tunnel there are 12-foot tall toy soldiers saluting you. Several sections of this park have themed areas with lots of Christmas music coordinated with the displays to give you the ultimate holiday experience.
Texas’ Original Drive-thru Christmas Park is open seven days a week now until January 4th including holidays from 6-10:30pm. Unlike most parks that charge a fee per person, Santa Land charges $25 per car. Commercial vans under 15 passengers costs $40 per van. Groups of 25 or more are $8 per person and Santa Tractor trailer rides are available starting for $12 per person (groups of 25 or more $8 per person) and children two and under get in free.
While you’re there be sure and check out the Snack Shack and Gift Shop for some hot chocolate or a photo with Santa Claus. Photos with Santa are $10 and CDS are $35. Kids will love the newly expanded toy department.
Said by locale Lindale resident Beth Harty, “Santaland is such a wonderful magical place. Year after year they outdo themselves and make it better than the previous year. Everyone young and old, with or without children should absolutely go see Santa Land it never disappoints and is an amazing place.”
Be sure to set your radio to the lights for a nice holiday music theme ride.A gift shop at the end features a nice gift shop, refreshments, and home decor.
The line to get in gets quite backed up so go early or be prepared for the wait.
