Better Business Bureau Serving Central East Texas is pleased to announce that they will be offering free Community Tai Chi classes at their offices at 6115 New Copeland Rd. as a part of the Build a Better Body module of the Build a Better Business program.

This free 35-minute class will be held on the second Saturday of every month at 9:00 AM. The first class is on October 9. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and footwear.

Tai Chi is an ancient Chinese martial art form that uses slow rhythmic movements to stimulate the mind and body. The flowing movements coupled with deep breathing have been known to improve balance, increase flexibility and coordination, and strengthen core muscle groups. Originally developed as a type of self-defense in China, it has evolved into a popular form of exercise and is heralded for its stress reduction capabilities.

Classes will be taught by Brandon Jones, owner of Tyler Kung Fu and Fitness, A BBB Accredited Business since 2012. Jones has over 34 years of experience in the Chinese martial arts of Kung Fu and Tai Chi.

Brandon has been teaching Kung Fu and Tai Chi professionally in Tyler since 1996 and is the Tai chi instructor for the ETMC Olympic Center and for the ETMC Cancer Institute. Jones has also worked with other area physicians, nurses, and physical therapists in providing Tai Chi for their patients.

“Tai chi promotes balance, flexibility, better movement, stress relief, muscle tone and cardio,” said Brandon Jones, owner of Tyler Kung Fu and Fitness. “It’s great for all fitness levels.”

In addition, BBB offers several programs to build better businesses and to help consumers make wise decisions. For more information about the Tai Chi classes or other programs, please call BBB at (903) 581-5704 or go to bbb.org
