The Goodman-LeGrand Museum, located at 624 N. Broadway Ave., will host a special art exhibit featuring the works of Nancy A. Berkhouse, titled Expressions of Beauty, from April 20 until May 18.
The exhibition, presented by the Palette of Roses Art League and the Nancy A. Berkhouse Estate, celebrates the life and works of Nancy A. Berkhouse, who was renowned throughout Texas and beyond. Although her initial interest in art was sparked while attending Waynesburg College in Western Pennsylvania, it was after she moved to East Texas in 1960 that her unique gifts truly became manifest. For the next 50 years, Nancy achieved excellence in all genres but became especially known for her Texas Hill Country landscapes. Her paintings have been purchased by art lovers from across the country and won countless awards, ribbons and honors. The exhibition, which runs through Saturday, May 18, will present a selection of works spanning her career and showcasing the development of her singular style noted for depth and warmth that created lifelike scenes, both amazing and delightful.
The Goodman-LeGrand Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free but a $3 suggested donation per person helps with the day-to-day operations of the museum.
