TJC Offers Summer Activity, Athletic Camps For Ages 3 & Up

Ad Eguide

From animation to athletics, horsemanship to robotics, and scuba to improv comedy, Tyler Junior College has a summer camp to spark the imagination of any young explorer.

Registration is open now for TJC Summer Camps for kids ages 3 and up. Camps begin Monday, June 3, and continue through mid-August.

“We have a great lineup of activity and athletic summer camps,” said Heath Stoner, director of TJC’s Ornelas Health & Physical Education Center. Stoner also oversees the college’s summer camps.

“TJC camps offer great opportunities for kids to gain skills to succeed in sports and learn about other cultures through art, science, and technology,” he said, “but they’re also often a kid’s first opportunity to spend time on a college campus. Ultimately, we hope our campers are inspired to pursue a college career someday.”

The camps are operated at several locations on the TJC campus, including the Center for Earth & Space Science Education at TJC, Wagstaff and Gentry gyms, the Ornelas HPE Center, art department, science labs and swimming pool.

TJC offers more than 60 activity camps, including Acting for the Stage; App Attack; Aquatic Camp; Babysitting Bootcamp; Broadway Camp; Camp Illusion; Chess Camp; Code Breakers; Cookies, Cupcakes & Games; Comic Book Creation; English/Western Horsemanship; ESports Apprentice; Exploring our World of Chemistry; Family Astronomy Camp; French Foil Fencing; Frozen Dance Camp; Improv Comedy; Incredible Stuff; Intro to High-Tech Health Careers; Jazz/Hip Hop Dance Camp; Jewelry Camp; Jr. Chef Culinary Camp; Jr. Firefighter Academy; LEGO Films & Stop Action; LEGO WeDo: Robotics; Little Pony Express; Make Your First 3D Creation; Make Your 3D First Video Game; Minecraft Animators; Minecraft Modders; Open Water Scuba; Pencil, Ink and Charcoal; Petite Picassos Art Camp; Shark Tank for Teens; Slime Kaboom; Space Camp; Table Tennis; Video Game Retro Adventures; Virtual Reality; Watercolor & Acrylic Painting; and Wood Works.

Pay it Forward: Who Will You Cheers Too?

Pay it forward…with beer! Introducing True Vine’s “Cheers To…” wall. If you know True Vine you know they love a good cheers, and they want you guys to be able to join in on those! So here’s how it works: you come in and buy a “Cheers To…” card for someone not currently with you. Maybe it’s a friend or family member, maybe it’s for a teacher or veteran. You then write that person’s name (or title) on the card, write them a note on the back, and stick it on the wall. The next time that person comes into the True Vine taproom, they can look for their name on the wall, pull the card down, and redeem it for a tasty brew!
