Sounds of East Texas, a Texas-based music platform dedicated to recognizing and elevating musical talent across the Lone Star State with a special spotlight on East Texas, is proud to announce the 2026 Sounds of East Texas Songwriter Showcase, taking place on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Rose City Comedy in Tyler, Texas.
The Songwriter Showcase is a live performance event featuring seven selected finalists who will take the stage to perform their original music in front of a professional judging panel. At the conclusion of the event, one songwriter will be awarded a curated winner’s package designed to provide industry exposure and career momentum.
Submissions are officially open now through March 19, 2026 and are open to Texas-based songwriters performing original music. This is a songwriter-focused event emphasizing artistry, originality and live performance ability. Finalists will be announced following the close of submissions once judges complete the review process.
The showcase is a free, family-friendly community event, and music fans, families and fellow musicians are encouraged to attend and support emerging Texas talent. (Please note: the venue requires a two-drink minimum per guest; alcoholic beverages are limited to attendees 21+ with valid ID.)
As Sounds of East Texas continues building toward its inaugural music awards, the organization will host multiple events designed to spotlight artists and strengthen the regional music scene — with the Songwriter Showcase serving as a premier platform for discovery.
