Elfrieda’s BBQ & Southern Kitchen By Big Back Ballew’s Food Reviews

By Big Back Ballew’s Food Reviews

I finally got to try Elfrieda’s BBQ & Southern Kitchen!!!

I knew it was going to be good when I pulled up and there was already a decent line of people waiting to order. I hopped out of my car and got right in line with everyone else. The line wasn’t necessarily slow, so it wasn’t that bad of a wait to order. Getting the food was a slightly different story.
I couldn’t decide on what I wanted, so naturally, I did what any responsible adult would do: I panicked and ordered a pound of everything (brisket, chicken, and sausage), except for the ribs. I got a full rack of those because apparently, my stomach thinks it’s training for a competitive eating contest. I also ordered two sides (mac and cheese and potato salad). Everything came out to be right at $100. Worth every penny or at least that’s what I told my wallet as it cried softly in the corner.

About 35 to 40 minutes went by and they finally called my number. I’m not really tripping on the wait though. This is more or less a heads up in case anyone reading this is expecting some quick BBQ. Good food takes time. I got my food and quickly drove home.

As soon as I got home, I busted out my big cutting board like I was preparing for Thanksgiving. I wanted to get everything together in one place.

The first thing I tried was the ribs. Although they were falling off the bone, I still enjoyed them quite a bit, and so did my boys. They had a great flavor and were still very tender.

I then reached for a slice of brisket.

The bark was incredible, yet simple in terms of seasoning. The way it should be, in my opinion.

The brisket was very juicy and definitely passed the finger/bend test.

I would like to point out that half a pound of the brisket was fatty/moist and the other half wasn’t, even though I ordered a pound of fatty/moist, but hey, no big deal. I’ll just chop the other half up for sandwiches later and act like I planned it all along. It for sure won’t go to waste in my house.

Both the sausage and chicken were equally delicious, as were the mac and cheese and potato salad. I especially liked the mac and cheese, even though it had a decent little kick to it. I thought it was still very creamy and cheesy, as god intended it to be.

Overall, I would highly recommend everything they sell. The people working there seemed very friendly and welcoming. I’m personally looking forward to coming back again.

This is a food trailer, so make sure to follow their page for their next location.

Trust me, your stomach will thank you. Your wallet might not, but you can’t win them all.
