17th Annual Rose City Artisan and Flower Market 

The 17th Annual Rose City Artisan and Flower Market will take place Friday, April 4, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday, April 5, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the historic Goodman-LeGrand Museum, 624 N. Broadway in Tyler TX.

This event features artisan and plant vendors, guided garden tours, and the final weekend to view the Antique Quilt and Embroidery Display. Smith County Master Gardeners will lead garden tours at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m., highlighting the estate’s historic plantings and restoration efforts. The museum will be open for tours during the event, with a suggested $3 donation supporting museum operations.

Outdoor Adventure Series 

Tyler Parks and Recreation is offering a free Outdoor Adventure Series for families with children ages 6 to 12. This program, funded by a grant from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, includes engaging activities such as fishing, birdwatching, and animal tracking. 

Spring Outdoor Adventure Series Schedule: 

  • Saturday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Basic Fishing at Glass Recreation Center, 501 W. 32nd St. 

  • Saturday, April 12, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Birdwatching, backpacking, and hiking at Tyler State Park, 789 Park Road 16. 

  • Saturday, April 26, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.: Animal Tracking at Glass Recreation Center, 501 W. 32nd St. 

Participants must bring their water and pre-register, as space is limited to 10 families per session. Register online at Spring Outdoor Adventure Series.

Silent Disco Block Party 

Get ready to dance the night away at the rescheduled Silent Disco Block Party on Saturday, April 5, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Pollard Park, 710 E. Amherst Drive. Tickets are $10 and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited. 

If there is rain, the Silent Disco will be held at the Glass Recreation Center, 501 W. 32nd St.

Movies in the Park 

Tyler Parks and Recreation is bringing back Movies in the Park, a free family-friendly event featuring a mix of classic and new films at Bergfeld Park, 1510 S. College Ave. 

April Movie Schedule: 

  • Saturday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m.: Wonka (PG) 

  • Saturday, April 26, at 7:30 p.m.: Freaky Friday (2003) (PG) 

Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy an evening under the stars! 

Easter Egg-Stravaganza 

The annual Easter Egg-Stravaganza will take place on Thursday, April 17, at Lindsey Park, 12557 Spur 344 W. Festivities begin at 6 p.m., with egg hunts to follow on the softball fields. Admission is free, and children should bring their baskets. 

Egg Hunt Schedule: 

  • 6:45 p.m.: Ages 5 and under (Parents allowed on the field) 

  • 7 p.m.: Ages 6 to 8 

  • 7:20 p.m.: Ages 9 to 11 

  • 7:40 p.m.: Ages 12 and older 

  • 8:15 p.m.: Adults 18+ (Pre-registration required; bring a light source) 

The adult egg hunt is free, but participants must pick up a wristband at the information table before the event. Hunt times are subject to change.

Art in the Garden 

Enjoy a day of creativity and inspiration at Art in the Garden on Saturday, April 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tyler Rose Garden Center.

This event celebrates local artists and provides an opportunity to explore the beauty of the gardens while creating and appreciating art.
