The Scoop – Real newlyweds playing romantic leads, a live orchestra, and one of the most iconic musicals ever written — all for $22 in Tyler this week. If you’re looking for something to do while the Azalea Trail is open, this is it.
Singin’ in the Rain opens tonight at Tyler’s Pollard Theater — and it’s bringing real-life newlyweds with it!
One of the most beloved musicals in American history makes its Tyler debut tomorrow at the Sherman Theater inside Pollard United Methodist Church.

The Pollard Theater Center’s production of Singin’ in the Rain runs March 25–29, featuring a live orchestra under creative director Amanda Spangler, who has worked with the theater since 2021.
The show follows silent-movie stars scrambling to adapt when talking pictures arrive — and this production has a sweet real-life twist: the two lead romantic characters are played by actual newlyweds, which the cast says brings an authenticity to the romance on stage that simply can’t be manufactured.
Actor Bryan Michaels said the show has “a little bit of chaos, but a lot of excitement,” and director Spangler noted the cast ranges from seasoned veterans to first-time performers — all rising to the same level by opening night.
Tickets are $22 and can be purchased at cur8.com or by calling or texting the box office at 903-521-0069.
