About Evie Effect
A community where mental well-being flourishes and suicide prevention is a priority. Our mission is to change the public’s perception on mental wellness and suicide by fostering a community of advocacy, awareness, and education.
In May of 2019, our founders, Michael and Jessica Domingos, faced the unimaginable. Their 12-year-old daughter Evie, died by suicide. In the midst of that heartbreak, they made a choice: to honor her life by creating something that could help others feel less alone and more supported.
That decision became The Evie Effect.
We are a nonprofit grounded in real-life experience, shaped by loss, and driven by compassion. From the beginning, we’ve believed that even the smallest act of kindness can make a difference. That belief is at the heart of everything we do.
Our work is about connection. It’s about honest conversations, community support, and equipping people with tools to navigate difficult moments. Whether we’re offering workshops, hosting community events, or sharing stories that spark hope, our mission remains the same: to change how people talk about mental health and prevent suicide through awareness, education, and support.
We’re always growing and looking for new ways to reach the community. From powerful in-person gatherings to creative outreach efforts, we meet people where they are and remind them that they don’t have to go through it alone.
The Evie Effect’s vision is clear: to foster a community where mental well-being flourishes and suicide prevention is a priority. Every step we take is guided by Evie’s story and fueled by our belief in the ripple effect of compassion and action.
We carry Evie’s name forward with purpose. Her story drives our work. Her legacy lives on in every life we reach.
The Evie Effect: Born from love. Grounded in truth. Committed to connection.
