An exciting lineup of legendary comedians is coming to East Texas, a Tyler club announced Monday.

Jon Reep, Chad Prather, and Tim Meadows will perform at Rose City Comedy’s Live Standup Summer Series at Blackhawk Creek Grill in Whitehouse.

Reep will perform on June 28, followed by Prather on Aug. 16, with Meadows set to close out the star series on Sept. 20.

The series is a collaboration between Rose City Comedy and Blackhawk Creek Grill. The two local businesses have a goal to “deliver top-tier entertainment to East Texas — a region often overlooked for such quality,” said Kristopher Blakeman, owner and operator of Rose City Comedy.Blakeman added that the partnership validates East Texas as “a legitimate market for comedy and showcases stand-up as a culturally enriching option for the community.”

The exciting lineup is “a good indication” of the future of comedy in East Texas, said Blakeman.

Aaron Skinner, owner and operator of Blackhawk Creek Grill, is thrilled about the collaboration.

“It is my pleasure to offer this growing community in East Texas not only quality food and a relaxed atmosphere but quality music and comedy acts,” Skinner said. “This community needed this and I’m proud to be a small part of its growth.”

About the Comedians

Reep is a nationally touring comedian whose “contemporary country point of view has won over legions of fans in comedy clubs, on TV and in film,” according to his website. “ As a stand-up, he’s built a following through his hilarious comedy specials and winning appearance on Last Comic Standing.”

As an actor, Reep is known for performances in Eastbound and Down, has appeared in the Tig Notaro series One Mississippi, Black-Ish, and may be best known as “Raymus” from Harold and Kumar: Escape From Guantanamo Bay or as “Hemi Guy” from Dodge’s popular ad campaign.

Chad Prather

Chad PratherPrather, who has called Texas home for the past two decades, has made numerous appearances on Fox News, CNN, A&E, The Blaze, and more, and his talents have been praised by Southern Living, People, Nash Country Weekly, and Newsweek, according to his website.

In addition to hosting Blaze TV’s “The Chad Prather Show” and contributing weekly to various networks, Prather has celebrated his top-charting album “Y’all Shut Up” and his latest book “Am I Crazy: An Unapologetic Patriot Takes on the Insanity of Today’s Woke World.” He has had international comedy tours and incorporates music into each show, often with his band Chad Prather and The Ragamuffins.

“Fans of the fast-talking, observational humorist have branded him ‘a modern day Will Rogers.’ For Chad Prather, taking yourself too seriously is the truest form of self-sabotage, and life is too short for that!” his website states.

Tim Meadows

Tim MeadowsMeadows is an actor, writer, and comedian who was one of the longest-running cast members on Saturday Night Live, where he appeared for 10 seasons, according to Rose City Comedy.
